Sarah is a member of the English Property Unit, based in Glasgow. Specialising in real estate finance and property investment work, she has more than 14 years’ experience in both English and Welsh commercial property transactional work.
She has been involved in large-scale acquisitions, sales, refinancing projects and corporate transactions, and acted on behalf of landlords and tenants on large multi-occupancy investment properties, such as shopping centres, office buildings and industrial estates. This includes advising on and negotiating document leases, licences ands assignments; and assisting with the overall day-to-day management that these properties require.
Sarah also has experience in the energy and renewables sector, having dealt with title investigations and negotiations for a long lease and option agreement for a solar farm on agricultural land.
Her work also covers several other sectors, including financial, infrastructure and construction, and retail and leisure.
- Assisting as part of wider team in a large-scale offshore wind project for one of the UK’s largest offshore wind developers in the Lincolnshire area, with over 100+ landowners.
- Advising telecommunications clients as a panel solicitor in securing new consensual leases and renewals together with associated cable rights and access rights.
- Acting on behalf of a battery storage developer with around ten options for leases of sites in England and Wales for battery storage projects, backed by a large French energy company.
- Acting for an oil and gas company, dealing with their lease renewals of production sites and negotiating reinstatement/exit packages in Nottinghamshire.
- Acting for an energy company in connection with their option sites in the UK for vertical faming and solar projects in Suffolk area.
- Assisting the corporate team on property transaction aspects for a meat provider and distributor group in their acquisition of a former paper supply company’s warehouse portfolio of threee sites, including variation to the terms of leases, for a value of over £500,000.
- Assisting with the property aspects for a financing project of three data centres in Leeds, Bridgend and Nottingham for a value of £5.5 million.
- Assisting the corporate team with all property transaction aspects of an asset acquisition of a leasehold electricity generation site in Redditch for an investment group, including negotiation of favourable lease variations for the client, for a value of £1.8 million.
- Acting on behalf of a well-known high street bank in connection with a purchase of industrial units in outer Bristol for a value of £1.6 million.
- Acting frequently for a London-based property investment company for multiple portfolio management transactions including most recently the sale of a multi-let office asset in Bolton for a value of £1.65 million.
- Acting on behalf of a well-known high street bank in connection with a number of secured lending transactions, including refinance of two industrial estates in Newquay for a loan value of £6.3 million; and funding for Devon development sites for values in excess of £1 million per transaction.
- Acting on behalf of a private Bank on a number of secured lending transactions including a £4.25 million acquisition and refinance of a corporate portfolio of residential London buildings for a value of £10.6 million.
- Acting on behalf of a globally renowned theatre company as their virtual in-house general counsel to manage their extensive property portfolio.
- Acting for a London-based property investment and development company, involving portfolio disposals as lead contact for 20 assets with a total value of £118 million; portfolio acquisitions for 11 assets for £26 million and 10 assets for £45 million; and ongoing portfolio management work for various office and industrial assets in England and Wales.
- Financing work for a portfolio of eight commercial multi-let assets for a value of £80 million.
