Kypros is a Solicitor in our Commercial Disputes and Regulation team. He has extensive experience of advising on complex and high-value commercial and regulatory disputes.
Kypros has particular expertise in the corporate, banking, property and tax sectors. He has acted for large international clients in the High Court, First-tier Tribunal and the County Court. In addition, he also has significant experience achieving favourable outcomes for clients using alternative methods of dispute resolution, notably in without prejudice meetings and in mediation.
- Acting in the pre-action stage of a multimillion-pound dispute between parties to various financing agreements in the construction sector, successfully achieving a resolution without reference to the courts.
- Advising a global real estate agency acting as lasting power of attorney (LPA) receivers and successfully defending an application for an injunction made by the debtors.
- Acting for a global investment management firm in its multimillion-pound tax disputes, most notably during the lead case on the UK “salaried members” rules brought by HMRC.
- Advising a client in the defence technology sector during the pre-action stage of an intellectual property dispute where the former employer of the client company’s founder alleged misuse of confidential information and infringement of its intellectual property rights.
- Acting for a property developer client in an access rights dispute between a neighbouring landowner around a large woodland that is being utilised for development purposes.
- Advising commercial landlords on debt recovery methods in relation to substantial rental and service charge arrears.
- Drafting and arranging the service of contractual and statutory property notices.
- Acting for both landlord and tenant clients in lease renewal proceedings.
- Successfully obtaining a possession order for a retail bank against defendants with a freehold interest who were in substantial mortgage arrears.
