As a member of the banking and finance team, James deals with all aspects of banking work. He particularly specialises in four practice areas.
Funds finance: advising UK, European and US financial institutions on leveraged and unsecured facilities involving Scottish limited partnerships in existing and new fund structures. Securitisation and structured finance: he acts for UK lending institutions on covered bond and master trust RMBS securitisation structures. Asset-based lending and receivables financing: he advises on the Scottish aspects of receivables financing across a number of asset classes, including auto-receivables and unsecured consumer lending. Cross-border finance: James also advises on the Scottish elements of cross-jurisdictional transactions, and matters involving Scottish companies on referral from leading City of London law firms.
