Harry Oliff

Harry has experience of acting on all aspects of agricultural and rural property transactions, including the sale and purchase of farms and estates, forestry matters, and renewable energy projects.

Harry has also acted in a range of residential and agricultural matters for developers and private individuals, including security work for financing, preparing and completing agricultural tenancy arrangements, and ongoing management. 

He is a Notary Public.

Rural Property and Business

  • Acting in the £17m sale of Inverbroom Estate, including over 20 residential properties and the retention of a hydro-electric scheme.
  • Acting in the purchase of Lairg Estate, comprising a holiday letting business.
  • Acting in the £6m sale of Tillyfour Estate.
  • Acting for a large estate in the sale of land and property as well as mast leases and agricultural tenancies.
  • Acting in the voluntary registration of Spinningdale Estate, including sporting rights and an adverse foreshore claim from the Crown Estate.
  • Acting for various landowners in the negotiation of Code Agreements and mast leases.
  • Acting for various developers and landowners in the negotiation of Carbon Agreements.
  • Providing specialist advise on a broad range of rural property issues such as rights of pre-emption, burdens and servitudes, access disputes and tenancies including PRTs, SLDTs and grazing lets.
  • Advising landowners in respect of specialist rural property issues, including access disputes, rights of pre-emption and redemption, servitudes and burdens.
  • Acting for lenders in respect of both rural/ agricultural and residential properties.
  • Acting for an investment fund in purchasing and selling property, with a specific focus on property suitable for forestry.

Renewable Energy

  • Assisting private landowners in connection with entering into option agreements relating to a variety of renewable energy developments.
  • Acting as part of a team in the ongoing management of a client's windfarm portfolio, covering sites across the UK.
