Alanna is a Solicitor in the Private Wealth and Tax team. Based in the firm's Aberdeen office, she advises across all areas of private client work.
She assists clients with the executry process, with a focus on supporting clients and their families through the difficult process of administering a loved one’s estate after they have passed away. She also assists clients in relation to their personal affairs, including the preparation of wills and power of attorney documents. Alanna can also support clients in the administration of affairs of incapable adults.
She is a registered Notary Public.
- Advising clients in their succession and inheritance planning, including drafting wills and conducting asset reviews.
- Acting for private clients to create and administer trusts, including discretionary trusts and liferent trusts.
- Acting for private clients as executors, in estates with complex family dynamics.
- Acting for private clients as executors in farming estates, including advice in respect of agricultural and business reliefs.
- Advising a private client in respect of an estate with assets both in Scotland and overseas, including the UK inheritance tax implications and applicable allowances.
- Acting in the administration of the estate of a high-net-worth private client, including with respect to “gifting as normal expenditure out of income” allowances.
